Perfect Router

This is a perfect little beast for a pfSense router. It handles QOS for 20 IP phones and 40+ computers without a glitch. Don't try to use this for a PC. The Intel 36XX video will never support x64 and the graphics acceleration is horribly choppy on...

dual NICs ; perfect for pfSense ; tiny footprint ; low power consumption

none for router use ; video is terrible for PC use

Good concept, Support SUCKS

This is cheap, but if building a Media PC or HTPC go with something else.

Size

Does NOT support Windows 64 bit drivers or WinXP ; DO NOT buy Intel Atom system that has Intel GMA 3650 Video built in. Intel will not release 64 bit drivers, No plans ; No Linux drivers or support. No DirectX 10 support ; Finally installed Win 7 32...

Very nice network device

I read other comment regarding pfSense and VGA screen being garbled. When I tried 64-bit distro, I had the same problem. Then I switched to 32-bit distro and everything went just fine. I don't have the same problem with 64-bit versions of other...

Great little (and very inexpensive) box for any network application. I have 5 of these babies (started with two and later bought 3 more). I use them for two separate webservers, a pfSense firewall, an Asterisk telephony server and a lightweight PC....

1. HDMI seemed a little temperamental. Lost connection to the monitor a few times under Win 7 when I was setting up the lightweight PC. Not sure why. Otherwise the drivers that come with the motherboard seem to work OK ; 2. Interior is a little tight...

Awesome Mini Server

Overall, I really like this system. It's affordable and works well for the application I had in mind.

Great stuff onboard for such an inexpensive system (USB 3.0/2 NICs) ; The Atom D2700 surprised me in terms of usability. It's not a workhorse, but it'll do the trick for a network appliance ; Some people here were saying that the board would only...

It's toasty ; SATA power cable was a little short, but not really a problem. It fits. I didn't have to bend anything ; Bad video support for Linux and the framebuffer WILL be wonky when using the machine as a terminal. Hopefully this will be remedied

Great Little Box

GSkill 8GB (2x4GB) Patriot Pyro 60GB SSD Added 60mm fan (with low speed resistor) to blow air out the top. Bent 2pins on heat sink to accommodate sata data and power cables.

Small, Dual NICS, USB3, Efficient, Quiet, and Inexpensive. 64bit support. 8GB (2x4GB) Ram - Some users / websites had mentioned that 4GB was the max. Great for use as a low power server. Good for download / torrent server, UTM device like NAS /...

No 64bit video drivers. No motherboard / website support

Appliance? Or...not?

I bought this to be a firewall appliance or something, but due to it having picky drivers for the NICs AND video card, it doesn't do most of the things I wanted it to. If you install a full OS and you can load drivers then it'll work fine. I'm just...

dual NIC ; low power consumption ; supports full 8GB of RAM (with 64bit OS)

PFSense might install, but the display is all jacked up and there's no serial port on this mobo ; IPFire installs, but no NIC drivers ; M0n0Wall installs, but no NIC drivers ; No full featured 64bit video drivers

Good, not for Linux (yet)

I have a single 4gb SODIMM in the first socket and it works fine, so I don't know if it will take 8gb total, but it does do a single 4gb stick.

Great box for the price ; D2700 ; Dual NICs ; PCI 1x ; HDMI and Optical out ; Legacy VGA, and headers to add RS232/Parallel if you need (also LVDS and SPDIF)

No video driver support for X in Linux. VESA drivers mean this is completely unusuable for anything requiring "front end" related ; This is a total shame because what a great XBMC box otherwise ; Sounds like when combined with the 32bit Win7...

Nice Little System

Intel doesn't have 64-bit video card drivers for this chipset nor, from my understanding, will they ever. With Windows 7 32-bit and all the Intel drivers installed, MPC-HC can play 1080p Blu-rays without issue. I bought this to build a pfSense firewall...

Small, well built, silent, dual gigabit NICs

Top of case gets quite warm without a fan installed (I haven't installed one yet). Power cable & SATA cable are just a tad too short and have a little bit of strain on them when plugged in -- nothing major
