I would really like to purchase some of the high dollar Canon lenses someday, but until I win the lottery, I am very satisfied with this Sigma lense. I have never had a Sigma before, but I would definitely buy one again.

Excellent lens for the money. I have taken about 1000 pictures with this lens so far. I am very glad I bought it. It is so versatile and really zooms in on my kids sports games.

Its a bit heavy, but I would rather it be heavy and have that solid feel, instead of a lightweight cheap feel.

Will replace my 18-200VR Nikon Lens

 

I most centainly recommend this lens.

Very nice focal length, has already made my youth soccer shots jump off the screen. Well build, very solid feel and movement.

Heavy lens, you will need a monopod or tripod for long shots or long events. The lens does not have IS or VR but with a tripod or monopod it really is moot.

When you see it you will buy it!

 

Bought this from Dell and their price is in line with the better online merchants. This is the updated model "DG" so don't be fooled by a $100-200 cheaper price as that is the non "DG". Plus it is hard to get so Dell is offering it at a great price not...

A super telephoto for $1K

Must use it on a tri or monopod unless you have arms like Popeye.

Excellent lens with minor design defects.

 

1. Sigma's service seems not that great. I once wrote an e-mail about my another Sigma lens, I did not even get an answer. Recently I wrote another e-mail by using the link from their web. It was turned down by the server. The message is "no such an...

It is an excellent lens. Sharp picture. Very quite. Very fast focusing.

Very heavy (about 4 lb). Zoom barrel is too tight: in an airshow, I had hard time to adjust the zoom quickly sometimes. Camera mount is not quite tight: when the lens is in the camera mount, I could still turn a little bit around. No VR.
