Verizon XV6900 (HTC Touch)

This Windows Mobile handset would have been innovative had it been released a year ago.

Sleek, slim design. Good performance. Lots of room for third-party apps.

Balky touch screen. Thin set of included software. Poor camera.

Verizon Wireless XV6900 review

Verizon Wireless made a number of smartphone announcements at CTIA 2008 , and we're slowly seeing the roll out of the new devices, the first being the Verizon Wireless XV6900. Available now for $249.99 (with a two-year contract and after rebates), the...

The Verizon Wireless XV6900 is an attractive and compact smartphone with a cool touch interface. It's also equipped with Bluetooth, EV-DO, Windows Mobile 6, and a 2-megapixel camera.

The XV6900 lacks Wi-Fi, and unlike the Sprint HTC Touch, Verizon doesn't offer its entertainment services or preloaded instant-messaging clients on the device.

Verizon Wireless XV6900 is a stunning smartphone with a cool touch interface and generally good performance, but the Sprint version offers a slightly better value for your money.

Verizon XV6900

Verizon's XV6900, aka the HTC Touch, is the latest version of a year-old design that was given new life last October in Sprint's update. Some like to call it a "Windows Mobile iPhone" because of its lean design and lack of physical keys, and it does...

Balky touch screen. Thin set of included software. Poor camera

The XV6900 is less compelling than its own sibling for Sprint or Windows Mobile smartphones for Verizon Wireless.

Verizon XV6900 Review

The Verizon XV6900 is a 3G Windows Mobile device with an emphasis on its touchscreen. Adama Brown brings us a review of this smartphone, which is based on the HTC Touch.

Small and light ; Different and interesting touchscreen system ; Easy to use with just fingers

Absurd MicroSD slot location ; GPS disabled in software ; Dialer slow to respond

My first impression on firing up the XV6900 concerned how incredibly small it was. It’s by far the smallest Pocket PC phone that I’ve ever used. It’s actually smaller than my Samsung BlackJack, which while it has a keyboard, doesn’t include a...

Verizon XV6900 Review

The XV6900 is Verizon's version of the HTC Touch. An almost identical model has been sold by Sprint under that name since last fall, while a GSM version is widely available in Europe

Small and light ; Different and interesting touchscreen system ; Easy to use with just fingers

Absurd MicroSD slot location ; GPS disabled in software ; Dialer slow to respond

A sleek and inviting smartphone for those who don't care about the lack of either a keyboard or keypad

Review: Verizon XV6900 - Small, Svelte & Sweet

The ample display (2.8" TFT-LCD touch screen) offers a new Home format featuring a giant clock display and two rows of quick access icons. One of those icons is a launcher that lets you choose an application (smells a little Apple-ish again, but bear...

At 4.0 inches long by 2.4 inches wide, the XV6900 is about the same size as the XV6800 (which is 4.1" long by 2.3" wide). But the newer device weighs in significantly lighter at 3.8 ounces compared with 5.7 ounces. And the loss of that slide out...
