Update to earlier review Sync errors

 

Very dissatisfied with this product. Defective ones apparently start with "M" on the serial number.

Did the firmware update that is on the Toshiba Canada website. Some have reported that this helps, but it did nothing for me. A\V Sync problems are the same as before.

Audio/video sync

 

Cheap, thin, stylish, easy to set up. Everything works fine except...

I've experienced an audio/video sync problem on multiple DVD's that work fine on other players. Do a web search for ""sd-4000 audio video sync"" and you'll find multiple complaints.

Multiple "real people" flaws

 

I purchased this product to avoid paying higher prices after my DVD player purchased in 1996 went bad. I wasn't worried about a great technological product. This product, however, doesn't even meet good standards for users that are high tech ...

CHEAP. This unit was cheap and replaced our broken unit without costing a lot.

You get what you pay for

 

Bought to replace a DVD player that would not play certain DVDs. While the price was nice, we got it for $30, it was not worth one cent. Setup was easy, but the custom setup was complicated and difficult to understand. The sound quality was terrible ...

Easy to use

Bad sound, no resume, cheaply made.

not a good choice!

 

i went thru my 1st one in 6 weeks got another from sears as agreement, it was bad from get go! it lasted 2 weeks. im now using my parents have been for a month, worried for its not going to last either. you know when you can hear it clicking and...

not a good choice

 

Don't waste your money. had to toss after 6 months. progressively stopped and stalled until if finally quit altogether.Will buy the Sony next time.

Bought a SD-4000 in May 2007. It was dead and unresponsive by November.Buy this DVD player, but buy the extended warranty, just in case.
