Great while it works.

It ceased to work suddenly after 16 months and outside of warranty so hence the poor ratings on every count - my unit does not work, no picture, no sound, etc.

Easy to use

If you switch the machine on while recording a programme it sometimes stops recording it

Does what it says on the box, reliable

Would like the capability to record perhaps four programs simultaneously, would be good to block transfer recordings to another device rather than just one at a time and do iin the background while returning to watching broadcast material

Easy to use, great design it's as complicated or as simple as you want to make it

Looks smart and uncomplicated. Automatically upgrades picture to maximum TV capability (1080i) and sound is better than that produced by the TV alone. Very handy being able to record 2 programmes at once and use the TV's own tuner to watch a third.

Throws a wobbly every so often, probably attributable to software bugs. Examples: 1 Sometimes very slow to switch on or does not switch on at all, the indicator light just continues pulsating like a Cylon in the original Battlestar Galactica. 2 Went...

Great for jumping through commercials

Hard drive disc takes it's time to warm up, you have wait a while before you can put the EPG on to record you programs. Other than that it works great. It's little shutting down but thats not all bad

it has brocken down and I have not used it for a bit I cannot get it to work It just will not load up at all useless It is 14 months and should last longer than this for the price I paid for it very disappointed with sony

HD picture is excellent . SD is also very good. Menu system easy to use.

You can here the system fan on occasion, though its nowhere near as bad as other reviewers have indicated .
