One of the best things the HD DVD camp had going for it during the format war was great hardware from Toshiba. And after the war was over many assumed Toshiba...

Toshiba BDX2700
Excellent Blu-ray image quality; Netflix, Vudu, Pandora, and Blockbuster streaming; built-in Wi-Fi; 7.1 analog outputs.
Slowest operational speed we've tested this year; competing players offer more streaming media services; not DLNA-compliant; somewhat bulky design.
The Toshiba BDX2700 is currently a little cheaper than other midrange Blu-ray players and includes 7.1 analog outputs, but otherwise there's little reason to favor it over faster models with better features.

Toshiba is finding itself adrift amidst a sea of Blu-ray players with its BDX2700, but the Blu-ray player has everything you could need: high quality BD playback and streaming movies and music.
Decent networking features ; Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n support built-in ; Great deinterlacing and scaling ; Great styling
Creates lots of RF interference over HDMI ; Loud transport ; Low build quality

HD what? One of the last holdouts from the high def disc format war has produced one of the best Blu-ray players you can buy -- for a bargain!
It took Toshiba a little while to join the Blu-ray party, but the BDX2700 was well worth the wait. While it's not their very first player, it's still an early model for the company. It's obvious that they wanted to take their time and get things right....
