Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

The Half-Blood Prince is a lousy representation of the best-selling novel.

Lots of references to the original Harry Potter fiction

Gameplay consists of only three different activities that get old fast ; Story is difficult to follow if you haven't read the book ; Character models and voice acting are subpar

The Harry Potter video games should complement the other media, providing gleeful interaction to match the excellent story from the books and the visual splendour of the films. But Half-Blood Prince isn't much fun to play once you've gotten a taste of...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter has yet another movie based video game, with improved controls and a sand box environment to boot. It is also badly written and suffers from a lack of decent challenge.

A rent at best, save your money for a movie viewing if you must. The game is too repetitive and offers little in the way of replay value. Better luck next time.

Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince - Review

Harry Potter and his encounters with the Half-Blood Prince won't win over newcomers to the franchise but it may have enough juice to entertain longtime fans. Electronic Arts is not going to win any awards with this video game based on the hugely...

Controlling the wands with the analog sticks, players will send spells by flicking the stick in any one direction. The battles aren’t insanely hard nor are they profound with strategies, but battling a friend is fun from time to time. The only real...

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince review

You know the drill. Big movie comes out, big game follows, game heads straight to bargain bin. It's as proven a formula as Infinity Ward + CoD > Treyarch + CoD. And once again it happens, as Harry Potter and company ignore the bulk of the latest...

The wee wizard’s latest game outing may keep the young kids happy, but it doesn't hold much appeal for anyone out of puberty.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the nemesis of Voldemort who is one of the biggest bad asses in recent children's novels. The books have been translated very well into movies and actually I prefer the movies well over the books, but the games have not...

graphics are well done and Hogwarts looks great ; most of the audio is good ; duels are fun ; the magic of Harry Potter shines through in the game ; does not ruin the movie by telling too much

not using all of the actors voices ruins the immersion experience ; too much running around at times ; potion making is hard when you have to line up objects to drop in the cauldron ; very linear and does not allow for enough freedom and exploration as...

When you play Quidditch you fly around on your broom attempting to catch the Golden Snitch by zooming around the field, flying through stars and knocking other seekers around. Flying is exceptionally easy and if you are even remotely good at playing...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review

Another missed opportunity with Harry and company

Graphics are pretty good ? particularly Hogwarts; Crest Collection may turn into an obsession, whimsical vibe for younger players

Repetitive gameplay, too much quidditch; too much bizarre dueling, and too much potion making. Over and over again

I asked if I could come and watch.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

To be honest, I had all but forgotten about Harry Potter, as it has been a couple of years since the last book and I assumed the fanatical craving for the next slice of magic had finally died out. As someone who suffered through the anti-climactic...

The entire game is almost identical to the last offering, only with the focus shifted to Quidditch, dueling and potions. If that floats your boat then prepare to spend a few hours just repeating those tasks until the game ends. This may be enough fun...

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

I went into Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince telling myself to have an open mind. I thought I was probably five to ten years older than the audience the game is aimed at, and all the wand work is probably designed for the Wii so playing it on my...

For fans of Harry Potter this game will be a blast, with a great world to explore. Newcomers to this world of wizardry may find some areas lacking though.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Much like the PS3 version, the 360 version was a considerable improvement over the last game in the series. Let me explain why.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for Xbox 360 Review - Young Harry Potter fans will likely play The Half-Blood Prince and have a good time, but experienced gamers will find the whole thing to be too simplistic and at times dull.
