Borderlands 2: Big Game Hunt: Keeps missing the mark

I feel like I need to apologize. I wanted to enjoy Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. I love the Borderlands 2 base game, I liked Captain Scarlett and the Badass Crater of Badassitude as narrated by Mr. Torgue might be my favorite piece of DLC released...

Lots of new enemy types, elemental weapons on the fanboats

Short campaign, witch doctors are terrible, the first playthrough feels like a second

Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock

I'm not really a fan of Sir Hammerlock - in fact, he's probably the only character in the first game I didn't like. I get that the game was going for an "old bean by jove" gentlemanly hunter type, but I felt like he was mostly just a walking trope

Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt review – boy’s own

The third downloadable expansion for Borderlands 2 is the most politically incorrect so far, as Gearbox's sci-fi shooter enters the heart of darkness.

The new levels look good and the side quests and new wildlife are excellent. More great dialogue and gags, and some of the series’ best boss battles

Shorter and less focused than the previous add-ons. The new human enemies aren’t necessarily in poor taste, but they’re also not particularly funny

A slight step-down from the previous add-ons but sill leagues above most other DLC, even if the whole great white hunter shtick sometimes seems ill-advised.

Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt Review

Sir Hammerlock returns for yet another Borderlands 2 expansion pack -- but should you venture into the wild with him?

Borderlands 2: Mr. Torgue’s…: Explosions, anyone?

Borderlands 2 is the probably my most played game of 2012. Why? The shooting is good, the setting is fun, the characters and their special abilities are all distinct and fun while being useful in their own right (Maya is the exception here as I feel...

Torgue is funny, arena combat is fun here and rewards the player, raid boss is doable

You’re going to die until you find better guns: combat is universally more difficult than the main game

Borderlands 2: Mr. Torgue

Borderlands 2 was in your face pretty much at all times, and I loved it for it. The quality of writing and fun factor were increased tenfold in the sequel, so much so that I feel like it's an entirely new IP

Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett: Side quest for treasure

Borderlands 2 is a great game, and its structure lends itself to DLC extremely well. The original game saw four pieces of downloadable content, and while Gearbox only got to a 50-50 track record there, it should surprise nobody that DLC was a part of...

30 new missions, 8 new badass challenges, interesting new enemy types, gorgeous locales, sand skiffs to drive around in

Raid bosses are annoying, can’t pilot sand skiffs in the main game, no level cap increase

Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate

The first Season Pass incorporated DLC has arrived for Borderlands 2, and it stars…pirates. You know - yo ho ho, swashbuckling, rum, Johnny Depp and all that? The star of our show this time around is Scarlett. Captain Scarlett, to be precise, and she...

Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty Review

Captain's Booty is not an exceptional follow-up to Borderlands 2, but it gives a good reason to jump back into Pandora.

Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty Review

Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty delivers mild-mannered humor and a satisfying adventure for you to shoot and loot your way through.

New enemies liven things up ; Lovely new areas to visit ; Some amusing characters and quests

Humor runs dry toward the end ; Some technical hiccups

Fortunately, these stumbles won't be a burden as you blast your way through Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty. Though the humor becomes one-note after a while, it's good enough to make you smile as you tangle with anchor-throwing demon pirates....
