It Works

 

This drive seems to be a great performer for the price. As a rule, I don't trust SSDs with important data or place them in write-intensive situations. I have not tested this drive in anything more strenuous than that. So far it is working very well...

Inexpensive, Fast, Still working 1 month in...

None so far.

Suddenly died after 9 weeks without warning. Now must do the warranty shuffle...

 

Worked fine out of the box.

Suddenly died after 9 weeks without warning. supposed to be more reliable than traditional hds, not less. my first problem with an ssd, never had any problem with samsung, ibm, ocx.

Two Failures

 

Would not recommend this hard drive.

Write and read speeds were competitive with other sdd's.

Had to return drive because it failed on initial setup. System would not acknowledge not matter what I tried. Returned and Newegg did good job of replacing immediately. This was on 2/10/16. Drive failed on 4/30/16. I will have it replaced through...

The Quick and the Dead

 

Yes- I am that person to give a 1 egg "review" because my unit is dead. No- an automated message about trying to fix my unit is not going to help.

- Was pretty fast. An SSD is an SSD after all (I hope.) - Decent size for decent price.

- Died a lot quicker than it ran.

The Reason I Wait to Publish Reviews

 

I bought this SSD on 02/07/16 & on 04/10/16 it became nothing more than a paper weight. No matter what program I used or troubleshooting steps I tried, it always came up as "Bad disk", if it came up at all. Not satisfied whatsoever with this product....

- Decently priced SSD.

- Short lifespan.

Silicon S55 Lasted All Of 3 Months

 

I did receive my replacement drive in a VERY fast manor, but that does not give me any confidence in the product. You have lost another customer.

Fast when it worked. RMA was fast and painless.

First off let me say the RMA process was fantastic, with that said the amount of failures that this drive is having is unacceptable. NEWEGG should, in my opinion, stop sell a product that is so riddled with failures and Silicon Power should STOP this...

Extremely unhappy!

 

I can not recommend the SP S55 240 GB SSD. The failure rate based on feed back is too high. It was very good while it lasted.

Topnotch speed, brought new life into my laptop. Windows 10 loads extremely fast. Internet browsing, opening programs, just about everything is much faster. Even the shut down process is very quick.

After two months I suffered total SSD failure. Extremely unhappy! Tried the SSD in several different computers with no change. It is like the SSD is not installed. From what I have seen in reviews this seems to be the problem with the SP S55 240 GB SSD.

Very low quality product

 

I would not recommend this SSD

The speed is not fast as expected.

I bought 10 of them, after 2 months used 4 of them death. This is not a good product to buy even the price is cheaper than the other SSD

Nice drive for the money

 

HD Tune test was as fast an a Samsung 850 EVO, but slower than a Team Dark. It's a good buy as long as it hold up better than their S60 drives

Cheap. Works well. Fast/

Time will tell.
