People are quick to decry sandbox games as GTA-clones, myself included. I can name half a dozen awful games in recent years that emulated the Grand Theft Auto formula, but with something on the order of 100% less success. It seems to be a little too...

Honestly, though, the camera is the root of my problems with the game. Everything else adds up to a fun ride and a nice homage to the film. It isn't perfect, but it is an enjoyable game, and it even pushes the sandbox genre forward a bit by moving the...

Join the family, crush your enemies and live La Cosa Nostra

Controls enable a wide variety of abuse ; Extremely faithful to the movie ; Stamping out rival families is a lot of fun

Almost too easy ; Taking over businesses gets repetitive ; Three endings, all of them anticlimactic

The game and the movie prove one thing... oranges are not as good for you as you may think.

The depth of The Godfather while you rise through the ranks is incredible. You have the option to extort, racketeer, put on heat, perform a contract hit, and hijack trucks, crack safes, heist banks, and many other elements that will take you from...

It's hard to believe, but Electronic Arts has done the impossible and turned one of the best movies of all time into one solid PlayStation 2 game. It's not without a few quirks, but most gamers will have no problem overlooking these defects in order to...

"A lawyer with his briefcase can steal more than a hundred men with guns." –Tom Hagan

Conclusion:The Godfather may not be able to match the movie in intensity or style, but it's still a fun game with a lot of opportunities to keep you occupied even after you've completed the main story. Definitely worth a look for fans of the film or...

The Godfather Review for the PS2

A hit-and-miss man.

Good story; Great character models, voice acting; Good shooting mechanic; Good music; Huge NYC map

That you won't want to explore; Melee controls; Repetitive and Bland graphics; A little short

In sum, The Godfather has a few good bits, and luckily they are in the right places. And that goes for both the PS2 and Xbox versions, which are identical. The melee fighting and driving are bland, as are the environments, but the story is compelling...

The Godfather (PS2) review

When EA announced they were working on a game to one of the biggest ever movie trilogies of all time, it made a lot of people very happy. Yet some people were slightly worried; could EA really do justice to the masterpiece that is The Godfather? Every...

The Godfather

Can EA's title set in Mario Puzo's gangster-filled universe overcome some early issues to become the Don of mob games?

An excellent complement to the book and films; innovative hand-to-hand combat system; great score; actors from the films reprise their roles

The driving often feels unrealistic; environments get old after a while; side missions can get repetitive; uneven framerate
