Test Drive: Eve of Destruction - PS2 review at Thunderbolt Games

Yeeeeeeeeehaw. Test Drive: Eve of Destruction is far different from all those other racing games. Instead of being a city slicker like some of the other games in the series, Test Drive: Eve of Destruction abandons the bustling metropolises in favor of...

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction

Well Cletus, its time to go bust up your pappy's car real good-like. Test Drive: Eve of Destruction (EoD) unabashedly revels in the glory of destruction derby, putting you in the role of a “good ol' boy” trying to make a name for himself among the...

Great senseless fun ; T-Bone hits in mid air are good ; Decent music ; Relatively good controls

Very limited number of tracks ; Mediocre to poor graphics, especially on the PS2 ; Little depth to the career mode ; Lack of multiplayer support

There are mixed feelings on this game. If you accept it as a hickishly good mindless excuse to run into stuff, then its a good game. If you are expecting anything like the rest of the Test Drive series, you will be dissapointed.

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction - xbox

Visually, Test Drive is a great looking game. All of the cars, hearses, school buses and ambulances have a nice beat-up and rusty look to them, establishing that redneck derby atmosphere this game needs. The tracks are also pretty detailed considering...

Is Atari's latest racer worthy of the Test Drive name? Only one way to find out...

It also would have helped pull the game out from the slightly-above-average bog it's mired in right now. Eve of Destruction is impressively addictive, and manages a quiet grace about itself in presentation -- despite being about smashing the crap out...

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction

After a brief period out of the spotlight, it looks like demolition racers are en vogue again. Games like Burnout, Destruction Derby, and now Test Drive: Eve of Destruction have taken the simulation racer with licensed damage-free cars, given it the...

Eve of Destruction's graphics are middle of the road, and it does nothing particularly well, nor does it do anything poorly. There's an option for 16x9 support, though when you first activate it, black borders are put on the sides of the screen until...

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction Review

Strap on your seatbeat, we're about to take Atari's latest driving fest for a spin.

As long as you can get past the lack of polish found on some of the more mod-related racers, Test Drive: Eve of Destruction is some of the most fun to be had this season. One-player is solid and long-lasting, and the multiplayer modes will keep this...

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction

The gritty world of demolition derbies and chain races has never been so well-realized.

Cars handle nicely; interesting variety; well-balanced mechanics

A bit buggy; obtuse menu system; poor audio quality

It has been so long since I remember playing a good demolition derby title. The genre really just started slowly but surely fading out of the gaming

Monster Games did a good job trying to revive a dying genre with Test Drive: Eve of Destruction. For those of you who have been longing a destruction derby game this one will wet your whistle, otherwise this one makes a good rental!

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction - Review

The destruction derby has always been racing's odd country cousin. No corporate sponsorships, no national TV coverage, and no big-name drivers – just a bunch of good ol' folks going down to the local track on a Saturday night to watch a bunch of...

It's been too long since gamers have been able to enjoy the simple pleasures of a destruction derby and Eve of Destruction does a bang up job of making up for it.
