Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

A long standing role playing series in Japan, MegaTen has finally seen some light here in the States. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne is the first release this side of the seas of the occult demonism RPG. With more pentagrams and signs of the occult than...

Conclusion:With a good amount of play time, nearly 200 demons to collect and fuse, side quests, bonus dungeons, different difficulty levels and multiple endings you’ll be spending a lot of time with the game. It may be fairly linear, challenging and...

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

I think it's safe to say that among the population of gamers, RPG fans are likely the pickiest of the bunch. Ever since RPGs rose above their humble beginnings of character-building stat-fests and bare-bones plotlines into more cinematic experiences...

If you are a Megami Tensei fan, you likely have this game already and I'm just preaching to the choir. If not, I recommend this game if you truly are open-minded to RPGs that defy convention and whatever preconceived notions you may have. Nocturne...

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - ps2

Okay, complaint time. Voice acting. Where the hell is it? I know, I'm spoiled and have gotten used to the magic of hearing video game characters with voices to give them more personality, and there are plenty of games before this became the standard...

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

The Shin Megami Tensei series has been in Japan for years. The game we're receiving in Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne is actually a director's cut of the third installment (released there as Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniacs). While we've gotten...

Just about everything about the game screams originality ; Beautiful stylized graphics with a very unique art style ; Very involving gameplay that doesn't have you looking for better armor and weapons, but instead makes you focus on molding them into...

At times it can be a bit hard figuring out what's going on ; It would have been nice to have more options in guiding your party's development ; The lack of voicework makes much of the game notably silent ; Mature themes that may alienate some audiences

This is one of the best RPGs of the year, and that's largely because of how original it is, but also how well its original ideas work. And that's all after you're done being impressed by the wonderful atmosphere this game is seeped in. Definitely check...

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne

"just tired of all the hack and slash RPGs that seem to be dominating the store shelves, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne is definitely a game to check out. "

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne on Playstation 2

A breath of fresh air.

The music in Nocturne is simply breathtaking. Exploring dungeons is set against some very moody background music. Many of the tracks are orchestrated and sometimes contain voices singing or the sounds of a pipe organ. Other tracks are simple piano...

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Review

Devil May Cry's Dante steps into the RPG realm with Atlus' latest demon-filled quest.

So while Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne isn't the end all RPG of the year, it will appeal to many RPG fans out there. In fact, if you can overlook the standard issue storyline, and really delve into the depth Atlus has included in the gameplay, Nocturne...

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

Atlus has a fascinating new world for RPG fanatics to explore, but it might not have enough substance to complement its high style.

Fascinating scenario; solid combat; beautiful graphics; great translation

Plot disappointingly spartan; uneven difficulty

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne

Imagine, if you will, a typical life in the thriving Tokyo metropolis. Accompanied by several of his friends, an average high school student decides to visit a teacher in the hospital. Along the way, he encounters a reporter who presents him with a...

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne is a rare title that manages to do most everything right. Gamers who have been craving a dark, mature RPG experience will find satiation this fall when Nocturne is released stateside.
