MLB Power Pros 2008 Review

Lose the Kid Gloves.

So many options. . .; Encyclopedic

Deceptively arcade-y; Thankless grinding; Bare art and sound; Firing me

Lacking noses, ears, and mouths, the super-deformed characters on the cover of MLB Power Pros 2008 look more like the poster boys for a free-to-play Korean MMORPG. Stare for one more minute and you’ll recognize the caricatures of superstar MLB players...

MLB Power Pros 2008

First and foremost, if one wishes to create a baseball game for the younger crowd, it's essential to generate a simple and accessible control scheme. 2K manages to do that with this game, even though it runs into several significant problems due to...

MLB Power Pros is back for 2008 season with updated rosters, a new RPG mode, and its signature fun, accessible, and deep gameplay.

Controls are easy to grasp ; Substantial statistical depth ; Team management and creation tools are robust ; Unique modes blend role-playing and baseball action

Not much has changed since last year's version ; Occasionally dodgy fielder selection

MLB Power Pros 2008

The second game in the casual baseball series, "MLB Power Pros 2008" is now on store shelves and while it's not going to impress any serious fans of the sport, almost anyone should find something to like about this game.

Plenty of gameplay modes ; Multiplayer is addictive ; Cute" graphical style

Too easy in most cases ; No online multiplayer or leaderboards

I say rent the game and see if it's your cup of tea, but if you can get into it, this game will provide you with many hours of addictive fun. It's a wonderful title and a great bang for the buck. It doesn't matter if you pick it up for Wii or PS2...

MLB Power Pros 2008

The intersection of adorable and tobacco juice

Lovable visuals ; So much stuff to do ; Great value for $20

Out-of-date rosters ; Loose fielding controls ; Baffling menus

While Power Pros 2008 offers an undeniably massive amount of modes and options at a terrific ’0 price, we could’ve easily waited until next spring for a truer, fuller follow-up. Veterans of last season’s title have pretty much played this game already,...
