Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

Entertaining combat and quirky puzzles save this game from belonging in a museum.

Intuitive controls ; Entertaining combat ; Creative puzzles ; Good-looking environments

Over too quickly ; Rough transition between story and gameplay ; Sometimes glitchy graphics

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for the DS has its fun moments — particularly the combat — but the story falls flat and the gameplay is sometimes problematic. But this is not enough to drag the game down completely. The cipher puzzles, although...

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Review

The “Indiana Jones” franchise has proven to be one of the most lucrative in video entertainment history, as the immensely popular movie series has spawned everything from television cartoons to action figures to video game adaptations. Installments in...

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings is entirely unremarkable. The solid design ideas and diverse nature of the gameplay keeps it semi-interesting, but it never reaches out and grabs you. And in fact, it just doesn’t have that capability. The...

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

Indy can punch quickly with a tap of the X button or throw a more powerful punch by holding down the X button, and he can also dodge, pick up items to use as weapons, throw those very same objects, use his whip to either disarm or drag enemies towards...

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

Quicktime events. Why'd it have to be quicktime events?

Environmentally aware brawling ; Environments look lovely ; The most authentic Indy game yet

Too many button-mashing quicktime events ; Falls back on terrible minigames ; Sometimes frustrating and dull

As with a deep-fried Mars bar, Staff of Kings’ disparate elements shouldn’t work in combination – and, indeed, they don’t quite – but the individual ingredients are right tasty. It’s an enjoyable game, but so bitty and shallow it's difficult to recommend.

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

Staff of Kings tries to do so many things that it fails to nail any of them. The combat is clumsy, the adventuring is dull, the shooting is uninspired and the presentation is severely lacking.

A variety of gameplay styles

Some motion controls feel awkward ; Bland visuals ; None of the sections feel polished

Those looking for an Indiana Jones game to right the wrongs of Spielberg's latest movie sadly haven't got what they were hoping for. Staff of Kings tries to do so many things that it fails to nail any of them. The combat is clumsy, the adventuring is...

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

Indiana Jones is back for an all new third person adventure that has him trotting the globe to find the Staff of Kings, the staff used by Moses to part the Red Sea. Can he find it before Magnus Voller and the Nazis do? Let's get to the review!

I was hoping for a lot more from Staff of Kings, but in the end it's a strictly mediocre game. It's worth playing through, but even at its budget price of $30 it's hard to outright recommend for purchase, although I do recommended you check it out for...

Indiana Jones And The Staff Of Kings (2009)

For most fans, it’s a delirious blend of kick-ass action and perilous exploration that makes the Indiana Jones movies so thrilling, charming and downright irresistible. But while Indy’s latest console quest has all the swashbuckling and whip...

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

Though Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings is new and exclusive to Nintendo Wii, it does bear a striking, almost shameful resemblance to the many Tomb Raider games starring Lara Croft on the old PlayStation and PlayStation2. Fortunately, that's only...

The Indiana Jones films came first, but it was Lara Croft who made interactive archaeological adventures a videogame staple. So it follows that the new Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings game can't help but draw comparison to old Tomb Raider games.

Indiana Jones And The Staff Of Kings (PSP)

If, like me, your PSP has become a dust collector recently, not by choice but by the sad fact that other consoles have been offering something far more appealing, perhaps the new handheld version of the whip-maestro's new adventure is the excuse you've...

Nice character and environment details ; Interactive environments ; Competent combat system

Missions are way too short ; Not much challenge ; Dodgy camera causes frustration at times ; Dull Quick time events (sigh) ; Becomes repetitive far too quickly
