Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz

Look out, drinking fans: here comes yet another trivia based party game to spruce up your dipsomaniacal revelries. As with most videogame entries into the genre, Buzz!: The Hollywood Quiz operates on the conceit of an overly garish and tacky TV game...

You do have the option to edit out the lamer games, or just flat out go with the Quickfire Quiz ; Another great party game…if you have that unique combination of low tastes and great short term memory for crap. We’re not exactly talking Jeopardy here,...

Buzz (the announcer) isn’t the least bit funny, and his lame shtick gets REALLY old, REALLY fast ; His irritating intros are (get this) UNSKIPPABLE, regardless how many times you play the game in a row. THE SAME SHTICK. EVERY TIME. UNSKIPPABLE ; Some...

Buzz!: The Hollywood Quiz can be a nice addition to any trivia buff’s collection. Wait, make that movie buff. Hold on, make that movie buff who only watches moronic summer spectacle drivel. Whoops, one more – make that moronic summer spectacle drivel...

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz

I love game shows. Don't get me wrong, I don't love all game shows, but more times than not I find myself drawn into the fake studio world full of cash prizes and trips to exotic locales. I don't care if it's The Match Game, Family Feud, Jeopardy!,...

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz isn't perfect; it has an annoying host and some of the different events kind of suck. But for all its faults, this new Buzz game still gives you a lot of questions to answer and has just enough character to keep you coming back...

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz

I'm a sucker for trivia games. After You Don't Know Jack graced PCs in the 90s, I became a sucker for trivia-based videogames. Unfortunately, there's still not a very big market for the genre, with only a handful of titles out there worth their weight...

If you own a PS2/3 and love movies old and new, The Hollywood Quiz is a must-buy.

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz

Trivia games are a lot of fun. You'd have to be a very unusual type of person to not enjoy them. I've always been a fan of game shows such as Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Millionaire, and the horde of other trivia shows TV has seen over the years....

In the Pie Fight round, the first person to buzz in and answer a question correctly gets to throw a pie at a rival of choice. Getting hit with enough pies can eliminate you from the game. In Point Stealer, you watch as a picture and question...

Buzz – The Hollywood Quiz

So what are you expecting when you put a game titled Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz into your PlayStation 2 (or 3)? Frankly, if you expected anything other than movie industry questions in a “whacky” manner, then you should check yourself into the nearest...

Themed questions and presentation

5000 questions doesn't seem like a lot at this day and age ; Not enough customization

Even though my disappointment with the game shouldn’t be taken as the game being unplayable or not fun because that simply isn’t true. Even the more casual movie fan will enjoy having a go at this, just make sure to play teams with a movie nerd.

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz

Prove your movie knowledge once and for all with this trivia-focused party game

Eight players, if you've got the buzzers ; More than 5000 questions ; Rapid-fire questions mode

Regular modes take forever ; Just isn't that funny ; Only comes with four buzzers

Buzz: The Hollywood Quiz

Sony aims for the party crowd.

Like its predecessor, Buzz: The Hollywood Quiz is pretty attractive for being a quiz game. The characters and sets fit well and there are some entertaining animations and unique players to keep things interesting. The game is fully voiced, including...

Let's Get Buzzing!

Buzz: The Hollywood Quiz gives Tinsel Town buffs 5000 new ways to geek out.

And really, that's about all that's new. A re-dressed "set" and a few new movie-themed characters like a vampiress and an Arnold/McBain clone round out the more subtle changes. In short, it's Buzz's take on movies, simple as that. And, just as simply,...

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz Review

Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz continues the fun with a focus on the entertainment industry

A fun family experience that tests showbiz and movie trivia, supporting it with solid clips and graphics. This is a party game and/or a family game that while it would appear to be a niche title, actually should have broad appeal.
